In the recently held 9th Foundation Week Celebration of the Colegio, Administrative Affairs Vice-President Fr. Oscar Novem Enjaynes was the resource speaker in the seminar 'Birding in Letran Bataan' last January 30 held in the audio-visual room.

Fr. Enjaynes aimed to generate awareness on the environment with the lure of these beautiful birds as basic indicators of ecological condition through the seminar. His photographs of forest birds found in Letran Bataan have been displayed at the main lobby during the Colegio Week.

A similar exhibit was also displayed at the Total Gas Station along North Luzon Expressway in Pampanga and the Balanga Wetland and Nature Park in Tortugas, Balanga City.

"Our beautiful country has a record of more than 600 bird species. Out of this figure, more than 200 are endemic while the rest are either resident or migrant species. There is no better place to go birding but in the 7,107 wonderful islands called Pilipinas!" -Fr. Enjaynes. Pictured above is the Purple-throated Sunbird (Male) found in Los BaƱos, Laguna.

"For the love of birds, I went to places like Subic, Sagada, Laguna, Quezon, Leyte, Bohol, Surigao, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Lake Sebu, to see and capture our avian treasures." Fr. Enjaynes said.

An active member of the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines (WBCP) and the Wild Bird Photographers of the Philippines (WBPP), Fr. Enjaynes participated in the water bird census held at the Balanga Wetland and Nature Park last January 24.
