Six hundred runners registered in the LetRun Bataan 2015 held in Balanga City on January 31.

The run which commenced at the Plaza Mayor de Balanga covers 4.10 km going through the streets of the city and back to the starting point.

The first 20 runners were awarded medals and certificates, while the first five for the male and female runners were given cash prizes.

At exactly 5:30 am, Fr. Raymund Fernando Jose, O.P., the Colegio's executive vice-president, signaled the start of the race to the runners consisting mainly of guests, alumni, college and high school students, and the school's employees.

"Apart from promoting fitness among the Letran community, we also want to imbibe to our students the importance of social responsibility." said Asst. Prof. Ma. Cristina Mirania, Office of the Student and Cultural Affairs director.

Post-run snacks and refreshments were served to the runners prior to the cool-down dance-exercise led by selected faculty members and staff of the Colegio. Runners also received Letran baller bracelets as they passed all three marker areas indicated in the race route.

The City Public Safety Office and Red Cross Philippines - Bataan Chapter were present in the activity to assist in the marshaling and first aid, respectively. The funds raised for the run will be donated to the Dominican priests' mission in Camiguin Norte which aims to help children gain access to education given the present conditions of this community, as well as in administering a mission church and a high school in two of the islands in the Babuyanes.
